Know Who Represents You

Every elected official in America — from your city council member to your U.S. Senator — works for you. They are paid by your tax dollars, bound by your Constitution, and accountable to you at the ballot box. Most Americans don't know who represents them, what those officials are supposed to do, or how they've voted. That ends here. Enter your zip code below to find every official who represents you, see their full responsibilities, review their voting record, and see their Restoration Score — our measure of how well they actually serve the people.

"The government is merely a servant — merely a temporary servant; it cannot be its prerogative to determine what is right and what is wrong, and decide who is a patriot and who isn't. Its function is to obey orders, not originate them." — Mark Twain

How the Restoration Score Works

The Restoration Score is our proprietary accountability rating — the only scorecard that measures elected officials against the 24 core policies of the Restoration Movement. Every official is scored from 0 to 100 based on how their voting record, public statements, and legislative actions align with the policies our members have committed to. This is not a partisan score. It does not measure left or right. It measures one thing only: whether an official is actually serving the American people.

Methodology: Scores are calculated by researching each official's voting record, sponsored legislation, public statements, and policy positions against each of the 24 Restoration Movement policies. Scores are updated after each legislative session. Officials who have not taken a position on a policy receive a 0 for that category. A score of 0 is not uncommon.

🛠 Developer Handoff Note — Your Leaders Page

The UI for this page is fully built. All card layouts, the Restoration Score system, sub-tabs (Contact Info, Responsibilities, Voting Record, Score Breakdown), and sample data are complete. The following backend integrations are needed to make the zip code lookup live:

1. Elected Officials by Zip Code
Google's Civic Information API (Representatives endpoint) was shut down April 30, 2025. Recommended replacements:
Open States API (openstates.org/api) — free tier available, covers state legislators by address
Cicero API (cicero.azavea.com) — paid, most comprehensive coverage of federal/state/local officials
Congress.gov API (api.congress.gov) — free, federal officials only
Note: A Google API key (AIzaSyCIa1KeaPZD0c0g67hWU1m0woQMGeFRN_Q) was obtained for the Civic Information API but the Representatives endpoint no longer works. The key may still be used for the Divisions API if needed.

2. Voting Records
— Federal: ProPublica Congress API (propublica.org/datastore/api/propublica-congress-api) — free with key
— State: OpenStates API covers state-level votes
— Local: No comprehensive API exists — manual data entry or scraping from local government sites required

3. Restoration Score Engine
Build a scoring function that takes an official's voting record and cross-references it against the 24 Restoration Movement policies using the tier weighting system shown on this page (Tier 1 = 5pts, Tier 2 = 3pts, Tier 3 = 2pts, max 100pts). The score display UI is already built — just pass in the score number and it renders automatically.

4. Architecture Note
Because these APIs require server-side calls (to protect API keys and handle CORS), this feature requires a simple backend — Node.js, Python/Flask, or a serverless function (Netlify Functions, Vercel, etc.) is recommended. The frontend HTML is ready to receive JSON data and render it.
